What is Frontenac-Addington Trappers Council Young Trapper Education Program?

The F.A.T.C has launched Young Trapper Education Program in 2011 that will provide financial
assistance of $100.00 for qualified students to enroll in and complete the Ontario Fur Management, Fur Harvest and
Conservation Course.  The program will assist up to 3 students per calendar year.  

The goal of Y.T.E.P is to help remove cost barriers to endure they have the opportunity to enjoy the
rich heritage of Trapping.  

The Fur Harvest and Management Course in Ontario ensures that the first time trapper enter the woods with sufficient
training and proper and humane trapping techniques, proper pelt handling, knowledge of laws, trap standards, species
biology and proper fur bearer management with conservation in mind

What Qualifies?

This fund will cover the Fur Harvest and Management Conservation Course for a young person aged 12-15 years old,
residing in Frontenac-Addington Counties.  

Single Family households will be given priority and financial capability will also be considered in the
assessment.

The scholarship will be payable to the Trappers Instructor on Completion of the course.
